sanded too much... how to fix?

Ok, I am starting to do the finish sanding before varnishing. I am using 220 grit wet sanding with a palm sander.

I have sanded in several places too much, where you can see the nap of the fiberglass cloth. I have not damaged the cloth, but you can see it.

I am wondering, do I just put a thin coat of epoxy on and try sanding it smooth?

Thank you for your input

You didn't sand too much if you didn't cut into the cloth. Wet the area with water and if the cloth weave disappears, you have sanded perfectly. If it doesn't, apply a thin coat of epoxy. -Wes
