Very impressive project for a Scout group, way to go!  Way back when the troop I belonged to built kayaks, canvas skins over wood frames, and I remember what great feeling of accomplishment we got from it.  An here I am today, 50 years later, still building boats, hanging out in boat forums.  Careful, Thor, you may be jading their little minds forever.
