The bottom panel is 6mm thick (for running up on the beach), whereas the #1 panels are 4mm thick.   This means there'll be a ledge between the two that needs to be sanded off before you fiberglass the exterior bottom.    I used 120-grit sandpaper and an angry 6-inch random-orbital sander.
