Re: Paint varnish and pri

Posted by Ralph on Apr 1, 2008

Laurie, I am in the midst of finishing the Wood Duck with a clear deck and painted hull. So far I have 4 coats of varnish on the deck, and two coats of pre-kote on the hull. The hull didn't sand as easily as I thought it would, it tended to gum up the sand paper. I also have one coat of white on the side. The bottom will be blue. I expect 2+ coats of paint. Then another coat or two of Varnish.

Dust and cat(?) hairs like the varnish. Aphids like the paint but tend to come off mostly well if I wait til the paint dries.

We will see what it looks like in the end.
