Kevin, I used Eipfanes over CLC provided MAS epoxy and it worked fine (sanded lightly and cleaned between epoxy and varnish). Shop temp was probably mid 60's. But I have had the "sticky varnish" situation with other products over epoxy. I waited several days and it didn't set, got mad, and rubbed it off with steel wool, rags and mineral spirits. Afterwards, I sanded and revarnished with Eiphanes and all was well. If you resort to that, be sure you have adequate ventilation - no sense burning down your house.
