Resin shouldn't be cracking the the jugs since, unlike water, it doesn't expand when it freezes.

If you store it where the temperature gets down to freezing, it will crystallize. You can liquify it again by heating it up in hot water.

The best place to store epoxy is in a warm dry place. Sounds like kid-free might also be a good idea.
