It's best not to experiment with random sovents on your pride and joy. Even if they leave the finish alone, you can get the dreaded fisheyes when you put the next coat of varnish on. Alcohol should do it, with a bit of rubbing. It's safe on epoxy and varnish, too. Also cheap.
