Silica powder & epoxy

I have plenty of left over silica powder and wonder if adding ~5-10% to the last fill coat of epoxy to the hull would make it more scratch resistant. I read about the graphite, or graphite & silica, but I have no graphite & don't want a black bottomed boat.

Right now I have done all but the final fill coat on the hull and just thought of adding the silica. Any one do the silica only?
