The plans are now listed as "Available in 2008" so there's 354 days left before the deadline is missed :-) Seriously though, converting a CNC model into a set of plans which can be consistently successfully built by the average amateur builder takes a fair bit of work & I've never seen CLC cut corners on plans just to get them to market faster.

There's quite a few kit builders, do a forum search for "duck" to see reactions to the assembly process. It should be perfect for a small lake, especially if it has many marshy channels. I'd say that closing the ends is the trouble spot, but the updated manual has hints for that that the older printings didn't. Before and after that it's pretty straightforward.
