I also like the scarf joints. Mostly because it's made by me. I'm not the kind of person who likes a kit because I like starting from scratch and doing all the work myself, but thats just me.

As far as the puzzle joint connection is this now being done on all of CLC kits or just specific kits? I like the Night Heron kayak but every picture I see of one it has different color stained parts. Interesting but seems that it makes them all look alike to me.

I do see why CLC likes the puzzle joint. You can only put the parts together one way and it really helps in alignment.
