finger grooves for hatch
Posted by Ralph on Jan 4, 2008
I am putting in a flush hatch in my Wood Duck 12 and am about to glass the deck. The manual suggest finger grooves to help lift the hatch, but I have not noticed any in photos. Are the grooves typically put on the edge of the hatch opening or the hatch lid?
It seems that using a 1/2 round wood rasp will cut through the top layer of the plywood, but this is may not be too big a deal as I have a few spots at joints that I have cut/planed/sanded through the top layer. Any ideas?
