Another San O question...
Posted by James Abell on Jan 2, 2008
Hello again,
Sorry to post all these San O questions, I just noticed on one of the sheer clamps, near the scarf joint there are some very minor splits in the wood, I can send a photo if there is concern.
I put some thin paper in the cracks and they seem not to go in that far. If I use this side on the non glue side and make it so the cracks are on the lower side so they will be bevelled anyway to reduce the weight. If I do do this, the other side of the wood, it rough, so I will have to try to plane it as flat as possible for the glue.
Is it normal that sometimes there are small cracks in the wood? Should I be concerned?
