Re: Prosthetic for a rudd

Thanks for all the replies on this but I'm still at the starting line. CLC does provide plans for a rudder with the SailRig plans but it is really a very simple and limited design. The lack of features such as kick up make launching a very wet affair and presumably limits the use of the SailRig to warm temperatures. If I use CLC's design I will have to do an extensive re-engineering which I wanted to avoid because I hate reinventing the wheel. Also, I checked with every commercially available rudder maker I could locate and no one makes a rudder with enough surface area. Phil's Foils, a semi-custom builder, can do one for $600 but that's a tad much considering I've spent less then $800 for both the kayak and the sailrig.
