I wonder if the Feathercraft rudder is up to it it you increased it's area to be sufficient for a large sail. What's the area? 1.5%? The seaward looks like a bigger rudder but I wonder if a homemade kickup rudder will have less leverage on the mounting hardware than a flip on deck rudder.
