over there - The one where you say you voted for wiring and got shot down? Regardless, both here and on the kayak builder's forum, Skiffrace was asking about STITCHLESS S&G techniques - if there were any and if they worked. And many people on that other site chimed in that, yes, there were stitchless S&G methods. No one over there shot down wiring the hull together. No one over there proposed bubble gum. And - even though their methods seem bizarre to you - each of those respondents had indeed built boats in the manner they described.

In any case, the whole point - and the answer to Skiffrace's question - is that you don't need to stitch the hull together if you'd prefer not to.
