I can see wanting speed for its own sake, but is it really necessary for a workout? Doesn't that just need to get the heart & lungs working at a certain level for a certain period of time (speed being irrelevant)?
Or is it like the difference in weight lifting between short sets/heavy weights and long sets/light weights?
