If you are going to do this you should read the books that explain each method. The internal strongback guy is Nick Schade. The external strongbsck guy is Ted Moores. Both methods have some advantages. I prefer Ted Moores' approach but it doesn't seem to be as popular as the interal. A lot of strippers are more interested in making an artistic statement than paddling. With an internal stringbsack you have more latitude in laying the strips in patterns. If you want a boat that looks like it has a left-hand thread, internal is the way to go.
