Russ,

On the 12 there is one internal bulkhead which forms the back of the cockpit. The deck is attached to the hull along the sheer line and on top of this bulkhead with fiberglass tape. The tape is applied through the cockpit and hatch openings using a brush on the end of a stick. The amount of builder in the openings is determined by the length of the builder's arms.

Just when you thought it was safe to stop shaving your head.
