Nope, never had any problems with off-gassing, fumes, odor, etc... Did have an endpour get exceedingly hot and proceed to climb out of the boat. Still didn't smell anything. And a good respirator is a must during the sanding process if you want to continue enjoying this hobby. You really don't want to be inhaling epoxy dust. Jamestown Distributers is a good place to look for 'em. As well as sanding discs, foam brushes, etc, but I digress. Anyway, I can't see a problem building in the basement. Just make sure you can get it out when you're done!
