sass-14->15

A question (or 2 or 3) for the boys at CLC; or anyone else with experience on where I am going here. I am considering a Sassafras for solo canoeing, a 12 is likely to small for me at 6'1" and 200 lb+. I am aware that boat length determines hull speed with beam (and even rocker)having some influence on that. I am considering taking a Sass' 14 and stretching it to 15' or so by using 12 3/4" or 13" feet between stations in the interest of keeping the beam the same @ 31" rather than building a 16 (@15'8")with a 36" beam. A 1 or 1 1/2 kp/h speed gain would be worth it to me (what's that, about a 1/2 or 3/4 knot?) I assume that I'm on my own on the modification if it's less than I expected. I will still credit you guys with designing a great boat if it turns out well. Am I correct to assume from catalog info that if I bought "The Canoe Shop" that I have essentially bought the plans and manual to build any of the 3 boats? And yes, I have collected errata sheets.
