hull crack

To make a long story short,My Chesp. 17 blew off my stand and landed on one of my wifes ceramic chickens leaving a crack in the hull about the size of a 10p nail. the wood splintered inside.I have the hull painted with a 1 part poly paint.Any suggestions on best repair?Than you
