Paint &varnish question
Posted by Kyle Lindstrom on Oct 9, 2007
Getting close to finishing my Cape Charles 17. I want to paint the hull white and leave the top natural wood. So if you painted and varnished your kayak how did you do it? I plan to roll the paint from the hull around the edge on to the deck maybe 1/4" or less. I will tape this edge with fine line tape to make a crisp edge. It will be painted with the hull upsided down. Now when it comes to varnish did you put tape on the edge of the paint and butt the varnish up to the paint? Or did you put the varnish over the paint where they mate up? Thanks for your help in advance!
