Mill Creek 16.5

Contemplating buying a Mill Creek 16.5 kit but am wondering if successful completion is as basic/simple as brochures, etc., indicate??? I have little to no woodworking sxperience, but am not afraid of the time it would take to do a good job but don't want to mess it up either. I've reviewed posts, pictures, and various websites etc., and the process seems manageable but would appreciate an honest assessment. What would be the most typical problems a novice might encounter? I do see this as a good winter project and would make good use of it at the lake as well. Thanks for any advice. Tom
