You might be interested in the thread linked below, discussing kayak speed. There's less difference between different hulls than you might think. I would not get too deep into numbers - If, for instance, you picked the kayak with smallest wetted surface, you'd get the Wood Duck 10, which cruises very economically, but has a low top speed.
