Maria, DO NOT USE RED LEAD PRIMER, IT IS DANGEROUS!
Greg, The fact that Kirby's Red Lead Primer contains high levels of lead and is dangerous (Mattel toy recall) makes this a bad recommendation. I called Mr. Kirby and he does not recommend it for this application. Any topside paint will adhere to epoxy. If Maria wants primer to fill minor scratches then Interlux or Petit primer, which are designed for this purpose, would be the proper choice.
