Keepers

I'm not sure what it is that makes some keepers come off and others not. It's not entirely leg pressure,,although good thigh bracing does help isolate rotational leverage from leg pressure. I've had keepers stay on a glass boat for 14yrs of rough use, surf, everything. The glass boat had a custom seat with perfect thigh bracing.

Nothing beats stiff minicell up against the bulkhead.

Heel stops under the footbraces can help leg comfort and remove stress off the keepers. On one kayak that had minicel on a bulkhead I velcroed a 2"x4" triangular block of minicell for a heel rest and provide adjustment for other paddlers with the solid bracing to the bulkhead at the ball of the foot.
