I too delete the glass tape in the cockpit when glassing with 6 ounce cloth.

I like to fillet then wait two hours for it to turn to rubber before taping or glassing to avoid the finger dimples in the fillets.

If you tab (epoxy between the wires, cure, pull the wires then fillet) your fillets will be much smaller and lighter.

Masking the outside of the seam when tabbing and filleting will eliminate epoxy drips and runs and also fill the seams and wire holes at the same time.
