It's a pity to hear of a boat shop being closed. I think my shop is somewhere in the middle of suitability. It's shorter than the Arctic Hawk I'm building, but it fits on the diagonal. I made the supports a little high, so I can duck under it to get to the other side. Other than that, things are good. I have a bench, good lighting, and comfortable temperatures most of the time.
Some on this forum have built in their living rooms, in apartments, office meeting rooms, porches, etc. Not many build in the open, but it has been done. I imagine the minimum requirement is somewhere dry to put the kayak between building sessions. Anyone out there done something like that?
