Leaky Hatches
Posted by Adam on Aug 17, 2007
Well I did my first two wet exits in my boat to see how well I can do it and found I have a major problem. My two hatches leak like the titanic. I replaced the weatherstripping (3/8 x 3/8) but apparently I didn't do it well enough as I take on 4 inches on in my front hatch and about 1.5 inches in my rear hatch, in just one flip. Should I try rebuilding my hatches (they don't match my decks curve at all) so that they create a seal or is there a little less labor intensive way. I do not like that I take on that much water because next time it may not be a controlled experiment like this time.
