Gene...All I do is wet sand with 400 between coats, rinse surface well with clean water, wipe dry with paper towels, let it dry for a few hours then re-coat with roller and foam brush. I've done this on 3 boats and have never had a contamination problem. I only use Interlux 333 for thinning paint and cleaning brushes...I don't know that I would use it around varnish...I don't like tack clothes either.
