I choose a graphite/cabosil hull just below the waterline and ended up at 42 lbs on my Shearwater. Mix it just before is starts clumping and make sure it rolls on smoothly. 2 coats covered the hull and a light sand afterwards provided a flat black hull. After a year of abuse here in the NW rockly shores, I only have 1 scratch through the coating. Very impressed. I consider it like a "tire bar" for my hull, much like car tires. Maintenance will be a light sand and recoat every few years.
