How strong a swimmer are you George? I'm a strong swimmer but my wife is not and she swallowed some Guadalupe river water twice before locating the handle to inflate the PFD. If this was do to her panicking or the fact that she had trouble locating the handle I don't know but it scared the hell out of me and her. I now make sure she wears a standard PFD instead of an inflatable.
