I happily admit that Peter's blog had a significant influence on my decision to go forward with building a CLC design.

Doug, one more correlation between boat building and software design... Test early, test often. As you learn about new step from reading or reviewing diagrams or photos, get some scrap wood and practice the new skill before committing to your final product. This will inspire confidence and help prevent errors that will be much more difficult to reverse.

When people remark on the skills evidenced by the final outcome, I thank them, and often add that I just kept trying until I got it right. Patience and persistence do pay dividends!
