I'm with Greg on this one. Thickening the epoxy is easy: you can pretty much add as much as you want...so much so that it won't run, and it will hold things on an angle quite well while curing. For my kayak, I fashioned my own footbraces and mounted them with ultra-thickened epoxy. Tape held the braces against the hull during curing. I have seen other applications as well.
