Varnished by ghosts?

OK. Another new guy thing on my CS 17.

I'm about 5-6 months into my project - slowing way down for the summer. My front deck panel was neatly stacked in the corner of my shop (out of sun-light's reach). When I pulled it out the other day, I notices it has developed discoloration on the portion exposed to the shop - presumably from light, dust, fumes, ghosts, whatever.

Of course, I'm going for a bright finish. I have not tried to sand it yet (the panel is not attached yet). It happened to the good side and I really don't want to use the bad side. What should I do?
