Don,
I've got you beat, I purchased my Chesapeake 18 kit in November 2007. Similiar issues, marriage, new house, kids etc. job, caused a 9 year delay.
I brought the kit back out this spring and am happy to say construction is complete and I'm sanding right now in preparation for varnish.
I would think that the wood is fine. Mine was in an unisulated garage for a couple years and in a basement for the rest of the time. I didn't have any issues with mine.
I wouldn' mess with the old epoxy. The resin may be ok, but I doubt the hardener is any good. MAS says the hardener is good for 12 months in a sealed container. As expensive as epoxy is it hurts to waste all the old stuff, but I didn't want to take a chance on ruining the boat.
Jim
