As a first time builder (MC 16.5), I am still on the learning curve.

I wasn't happy with my first hatch (aft one)using the double layer of ply, so on the second I went with frames. Didn't get the curvature exactly right, so I heated the epoxy joint with a heat gun, and removed the frames for a little reshaping. Ending up removing and reshaping a second time before I was happy.

Maybe you can remove your frames for a little trim job.
