Touch Up Hull Paint

I just finished putting on the 5th coat of brightsides paint on my kayak hull and it looks great except for a couple small dry areas and a couple of drips. Can I just lightly sand those areas, apply a small amount of paint and tip out with a dry brush, or will that show too much and I should put on a quick thin coat on the whole hull.

Also any thoughts on how long to let paint cure before using fineline tape over it to varnish hull.
