one of the pair of mast carriers. They are built to stand in the mast steps and carry the masts flat. Both leather lined. There is a support on the after deck that straddles the tiller to keep it centered, and support the very ends of the masts.
I suppose bailers on each side would work, but we've not found a real need for them- We just use a cut off clorox bottle to bail water when needed- which is seldom actually.
