you could, I'd suggest taking a 2" wide scraper to the rough edges of the tape before applying anymore epoxy to the tape. It's really not that necessary to fill the weave of tape since "filling the weave" is more applicable for coating over flat areas of cloth that will be varnished or painted. With the tape once it's wetted out you've done all that's needed structurally. The tape tends to be a raised and wrinkled mess that piling epoxy onto doesn't do much except opportunities for more drips. If you just scrape all the rough edges off then a single coat after that will make thinks a bit smoother.
