Purchasing a Used 17'

Hello,

I have an opportunity to purchase a Chesapeake 17 for $300.00 The boat is about 2-3 years of age and could used some freshening up with a new coat of varnish but seems to be very solid and complete. Any thoughts on what the pricing of a used boat goes for? I know condition plays a part. I think I can get the top cleaned up and looking sharp as well as the minor scratches on the bottom. Anything I need to know? I'm a begginer and looking to get started reasonably and I think this is a good way. I had another opportunity to buy one about 3 years ago and the craftsmanship was outstanding. What the hell was I thinking ;) Any suggestions thoughts or ??? Thanks
