why the brush?
Posted by Charlie Jones on Apr 6, 2007
You've already got a foam brush in your hand. I use the roller itself to tip off.
I just use my (gloved) hand to stop the roller from turning and lightly drag it from one end of the surface to the other. Works like a champ and you can do it without stopping to go get a brush.
SOMEWHERE in the Gougeon's EpoxyWorks magazine files they even show a way to make a handle to fit onto the roller frame to stop the roller from turning. Never made much sense to me since you can just grab the roller edges ( I always use 3 inch sections, no more than 4 inch) and drag it along.
I did a 20 foot sailboat hull the other day in about 6 minutes once I finished rolling the epoxy coat on.
