60 grit on random orbital or 60grit on high speed disc? Either way it's possible. If it's bare wood you would go through the soft epoxied wood VERY FAST once the glass was removed. It would be obvious because you'd go from dark epoxied wood to light dry wood in a few seconds with that grit. I'd suggest assessing whether you really have gone through the glass first before step 1 to correct the problem. Sanding fill coats doesn't leave a neat looking surface although it neater than blobs.
