Laszlo's right about the cutting of the hatches, at my classes we use a couple of Japanese hand saws, from LeeValley www.leevalley.com. Also try the Norton Champaine Sanding disks, Ted Morres, Bear Mountain Boats uses this brand. Best of luck with the finishing and the launch. Randy
