removing varnish on paint

Posted by eric on Feb 4, 2007

there are a couple of tricks to try. If the paint has been on there a while, you can sometimes disolve the varnish for a day or two after the varnish has been slopped on. Use denatured alcohol, and rub it on with a rag onto the varnish. When its fresh, the varnish will disolve before the paint does. This won't work if the paint is fresh, though.

Another trick is to slip a razor blade under it and get it off that way. Again, it works better with old paint.
