I really don't think it'll be a problem at all. I'd just go ahead and see what happens when you plane the deck radius. It's not unusual to plane into the hull itself while planing the sheer clamps so you'll probably have plenty of sheer there. At worst you might have to glue that 1/8" strip along the sheer in the cockpit area where you plane a rolling bevel from the deck beam to the rear bulkhead. I got a little overly zealous on my first boat, a 17LT, and had to do just that. You are far from a Viking funeral.
