In a kit? A half-inch all the way around? Even yesterday I was on the phone with a Chesapeake 16 kit builder who was remarking on the snug fit of the bulkheads, so I'm not sure where the difference is coming from. Is it a consistent half-inch on all facets, or just on the sides or bottom? Try taking the spreader stick out and see what happens. Of course moving the bulkheads a little forward or back doesn't harm anything.
