the shape off youre bttom depends on what you're going to use it for. more V will give it more directional stabilety, but make it harder to turn. if you give it more V it will be veary difficult to manuver without a rudder. a flatt bottom will give good initial stabilety and good turning capebileties. it will however be almost imposebal to controll on rougher watters (not including rivers). in general if you intend to paddel on calm watters and rivers go with a fairly flatt bottom, if you intend to do you're kajakking at sea especially if you're going for longer trips you'll want a bit more of a v.
