hardware question

Well, last night I got my deck beam laminated! I am filling the weave on the hull today. I assume that tomorrow I will be ready to fit the deck beam in. My problem at the moment is that I can't seem to find any bronze hardware in this boating capital that I live in. I don't want to use stainless, but can I use brass? just for the deck beam at least? Won't it be sealed over enough. I'd like to be able to have the deck on, sans the glass by Monday or Tuesday, but this may be the big hold up over two screws.
