It sounds like you didn't build the sailboat. If you didn't, make sure the resin you plan to use will stick to the glass of your sailboat. Some polyester resins won't stick to other polyesters. Epoxy is the better choice, especially if this will be an important repair, as it will stick to polyesters (as long as blush, wax, grease, dirt, etc., are removed). Do you still have epoxy left over from the CLC projects? Perfect use for it and the silica thickener.
